I try to pick something that interests them. My youngest loves trains. We have Tootle and the Little Engine that Could. Any other ideas for a living book about trains? I happened upon this one at a book sale and he has really enjoyed it.http://www.amazon.com/Freight-Train-Donald-Crews/dp/0688117015/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320416427&sr=8-1 November 4, 2011 at 2:25 pm abidnginhimParticipantNot sure of the ages you are buying for, but my 3 yo loves trains and these are his favorite books. Little Train by Lois Lenski has a lot of information about trains in it for a children’s book. I learned quite a bit.http://www.amazon.com/Little-Train-Lois-Lenski/dp/0375810714/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1320416482&sr=1-1http://www.amazon.com/Little-Trains-Margaret-Wise-Brown/dp/0060283769 November 4, 2011 at 2:47 pm Treasure HouseParticipantLamplighter has 3 books about Trusty the train: Trusty Tried & True; Trusty Gets Off Track; and Trusty Meets Bully Blare. We have the 1st 2 and really enjoy them, but I haven’t read the 3rd yet. It’s about Trusty going to a new school, so I don’t know if it’s a good choice for every family.http://www.lamplighterpublishing.com/prodinfo.asp?number=LPTTAT November 4, 2011 at 4:15 pm csmammaParticipantJust wanted to second Trusty Tried & True by Lamplighter! My youngest absolutely adores this book. November 5, 2011 at 4:07 am wearejenandkevParticipantThanks for the help! I will check them out!
