Just stumbled on this thread. Simple mom, just to let you know that you can turn off the internet on a kindle. Also, you can put limits on it through it’s settings, or allow an internet filter like Besecure to filter all devices in the home. We do this as we have 5 teens in the home. We have age rules for allowing devices and time limits. The nice thing about kindle is that in using Ambleside Online, we can download so many classic and older books for free. I put approx. 50 free books that they will use for schooling on their kindles.
Or, another option if you really want to monitor, is to put the Kindle app on a regular computer where it is easily seen by all. You can still download all the older poetry, literature, biographies, etc, and yet walk by and see on the big screen what everyone is up to. Hope this helps.
