At family Bible read-aloud, we each take turns reading. What do you do to help everyone say the words right, especially those hard OT words? I have stopped the lesson to use an Internet site, but it takes away from the Bible message with this interruption and makes our time for Bible longer. It is a rabbit trail I wish to avoid, yet I want us to say them correctly. If we could learn it right the first time, we would not have this struggle the rest of our lives. Any suggestions?

Perhaps we could do Bible differently and read along to an audio book Bible? Would this present any other problems? I don’t want to run into any mature topics too early. My dc read children’s Bible readers from R&S now. Has anyone done this before?

Am I putting too much importance on correct pronunciations?

What if you took some time to look the passage over and get the pronunciations figured out before reading time?

I like to use the ESV Bible website because you can listen to any passage with a click.

Thanks, Doug. I was hoping for something easier. I thought about a physical pronunciation book, but I am not sure that I would get it right. It is better to hear it. I could look ahead for the week and use the website, jotting down notes to help me remember.
