  • Can anyone comment on these? Would you consider them living books? I understand there are some questions that go with chapters…are those twaddly or what? I haven’t had a chance to see these firsthand but am looking for upper elementary independent science reading for a child who has an interest in the topics.

    Also, I know they are written from a Christian perspective, but what’s that like? For example, I really dislike when a text is always saying it’s so great that God created the world this way! And isn’t it wonderful that He did this! And that He did that! (Note the overuse of exclamation masks!)

    Even though I totally agree, I find that kind of writing overdone and insulting, almost belittling how awesome His creations really are, of that makes sense.

    Our older children used these in middle school and enjoyed them.  You can look at samples on the CBD website.
