    Hi,

I am new to homeschooling and will be starting in the summer. I will be trying the organizer then as well.

Are you able to keep track of the time you spend on schooling with the organizer? Our county requires us to school 1050 hours each school year.

Do you keep track of field trips/outings with the organizer?

For using the organizer as a paper trail, do you have to print off the daily sheets or can it be printed weekly?

    Thanks so much!

    Hi, Keri, and welcome!

Are you able to keep track of the time you spend on schooling with the organizer? Our county requires us to school 1050 hours each school year.

The CM Organizer does not currently have a place to track time spent on school work. I do know that some moms who are required to track the number of days do that by putting a note in the Daily Journal that says “Day 17” or whatever day it is. I would think you could put a little note up there with the number of hours you spent that day.

Do you keep track of field trips/outings with the organizer?

That Daily Journal note works great for field trips and outings, whether planned or last minute. Since it shows up in your Reports, you have a great record of those activities.

For using the organizer as a paper trail, do you have to print off the daily sheets or can it be printed weekly?

You don’t have to print anything off if you don’t want to. I like to run a Report at the end of each month or each Term and keep that report as a .pdf file on my computer. You could easily print a report if you needed to. The detailed reports detail what you did each day, including assignments you worked on and finished; the summary reports summarize just your finished work and the date ranges. So, depending on what information you need, the reports should provide a comprehensive “paper trail.”

As you’ve probably seen on other discussions here, we’re working out some bugs in our most recent upgrade. So you might want to wait a couple of days before starting your trail just to make sure you get the best experience possible. 🙂
