How old are your kids?  Sounds good to me.  The only thing that stuck out to me was maybe adding composers and hymns…but if you’re just beginning I wouldn’t worry about it at the start and just add in when in a good routine!  I asked about age, because I’m assuming your kids are under 4th-ish or so since  you have oral instead of written narrations.  And if your kids were older, especially, you might want to add foreign language.  Looks like a good plan!  Gina

P.S. Oh, and you may have nature study planned informally, but just wanted to mention that:)

Thanks. I purposely left off the hymn and composer study because I do not know what all we will get to. I am hoping she will do some nature study in the afternoons. She is third grade.

I’ve got a third grader this year too.  We’re doing all that you are (different time periods and math, but basics are the same).  The only thing we have different is copywork/handwriting practice.  Does Spelling Wisdom have that?  I use a different spelling program but don’t consider it ‘enough’ for him.  I also have “quiet reading” time because he does NOT choose to read on his own so we encourage him to do so by having the whole family quietly read a book fo their choice at some point during the day.  Your daughter may not have that problem.

I am integrating copywork as part of Spelling Wisdom.

My dd is a huge reader so scheduling extra reading is not an issue.

My son was in third this past school yr. He had copywork from Bible Verses, Draw, Write, Now, and some hymns. We also had art.

    Your schedule looks great 🙂

Then I say you’re golden!  Hope it’s a good year for y’all.  Can you spread some of the reader bug this way? Wink

I’ll have a 3rd grader, too.  I haven’t managed to get too far with planning for him, yet.  I’m still trying to put together for my 6th grader who had learning challenges.  This has given me a wake up call that it’s time to get started.

Oops…..3rd grade is right in your title:)  Forgive me for spacing out!

I’m continually amazed at what my brain doesn’t see even though it is right in front of me.
