Can someone tell me the most appropriate age range for the Millers Series by Maria Miller and how it might be used best? As read alouds, save for independant reading in later years? In what fashion have you used it?
Planning 1st grade Bible: Scripture Memory System, bible stories read from the bible, and SCM’s History Module 5. Would a Miller book be a good addition? If so, which one?
Any thoughts or recommendation are welcome. Thanks in advance! Blessing to all.

Last year, I used Widsom and the Millers with my then 2nd & 5th grade sons. I just read one story outloud to them each week and they seemed to like it. This year I’m reading Prudence and the Millers with my 3rd grader outloud once per week. By the way the author is actually Mildred Martin.
I think it would be a fine addition to your line-up. Reading outloud for us worked great, the stories are only a few pages, however the bible verse is in King James so I always looked it up in the bible first and read it in the version we use (NLT).

How embarrassed am I about getting the author’s name wrong when I was looking straight at it when I typed? LOL! I guess my fingers were thinking of the author of a common math curriculum but my brain was thinking about Mildred. Ooops. Thanks for the correction.
I am thinking (depending on which book in the series we used) that we would group our selection with our habits/personal development studies as well. I could use it along side of our LDTR4C. I can’t wait to dive into Module 5, but I don’t want to overload Bible. Balancing out LDTR will be lovely.

There is also a character guide for the series so you could match up stories with LDTR4C. I ordered mine from Rainbow Resource. Milestone Books also has it. We have read 1 story per week for over 3 years and are almost through them all. I plan to go through them again by character now. We started with Storytime as it is more for younger children with larger print and simpler stories. Missionary Stories is better for older ages as there is some danger and violence in these. It should not matter the order of the others, except that after reading the others and then Wisdom, we could tell the child characters were younger in age in Wisdom.

There is also a coloring book that goes with the character guide for the younger kids. My friend, Kris Hage, wrote the character guide for her kids. A homeschooling mom, of course. Storytime is the best book to start with for younger kids.

My dd8 & ds6 want to hear a story every day! Dd8 will ask to read them aloud to us. My nephew, age 9, enjoyed them also.
