Anyone read this? I’ll admit that I’m an organizational fanatic and have plenty of books on this topic to prove it. But this one really looks good too and just wanted opinions.

I took it out of the library over Christmas, but didn’t have time to read it all. I had to take it back because it had holds. What I read of it was excellent. I will definitely be taking it out again. I think the strength of the book is the encouragement to look at our things differently, as opposed to simply a how-to book of organization and decluttering.

I too have many books like this. What I’d like to see is living simply minimizing what I have without it all look stark and cold. For Christmas I just received a neat library card file-looking DVD storage cabinet, so I’m no longer dusting my dvds, but only the top of this small unit. It’s easy on the clutter and easy to keep clean. The DVDs stay clean too, unlike in a glass cabinet under the TV unit. So I love tables with drawers, etc!
But I’ve yet to find the minimal/simple homey look.

@ alilac, Have you thought about putting them in a leather binder? Mine holds about 300 DVD’s. I just slide the front of the cover in the spot where I am going to put the movies. I like it because it only takes up a 12×12 spot and it is about 3 inches thick. I think that if I could do the same thing with all of my beloved VHS tapes life would be so much simpler. 🙂 I have all of my DVD’s in one spot now and I love it. Thought I would mention this option if you haven’t thought of it. 🙂

Just a thought but maybe everyone on here could give their organizational ideas for releiving what they use to have a problem with. Hope to here more ideas!

Too late Chocodog. I do have one, but I’m always leary of doing away with the jackets. Some movies have two dvd’s, some have this little eensy weensy print on them and I’d never know what it is. Then…I’d be too anal in trying to get them in alpha order. LOL
On the other hand, that’s a fantastic idea for dd’s dvd’s that she never puts away, has jackets laying all over … love that!
