Ahhh, I’m enjoying listening to my four dc (10yo, down to 2-1/2yo). They have such an imagination. So far this morning they’ve imagined a journey to the moon and then a journey with Vasco DaGama — with self-made maps, costumes, spaceship, and ship. They’ve been at this ever since after breakfast.
No modern distractions here.
Dad just got home from work so they’ve stopped their play to “go and greet Dad”. They always have such a fanfare for him when he gets home.
I can’t help to feel blessed!…and I’m sure all of you can relate.
Added side note: So nice to see they *are* learning!
Thank you for sharing this. That is such a blessing; I thank the Lord for his mercy and kindness in showing us how these children can be raised for him. I was actually thinking this same thing this morning while I watched my boys do their rounds feeding the snake they caught, letting go the turtle they caught, feeding the bird that fell out of its nest…just relishing God’s creation. My husband was dismayed that they found this little bird; surely it’s going to die, he said. It might, but we’ll do our best and praise the Lord that letting it lay in the field to perish was not an option for our children; they see life – all life – as precious.
I love hearing stories like this…they are so encouraging! Recently, my DD 8 1/2 and a little girl I babysit for (5 1/2) played with Little House on the Prairie paper dolls for 45 minutes while we were at a gymnastics class for my younger daughter. This was in the midst of children playing video games, watching tv, and eating unhealthy snacks. It’s so nice to see that our children are capable of entertaining themselves so imaginatively!
Faith 🙂
