I have been trying to make some healthier choices lately in regards to food and exercise, but it seems like the decisions are very hard to make (a lot of effort).  I have to keep reminding myself to watch what I put in my mouth.  My natural inclination is to cook whatever is fastest or easiest.

I’m wondering, how many of you have dealt with this, and does the effort of decision lessen over time?

I am also going thru this right now!  I am very greatful to have people in my life who are able to help me in this area.  And being I have fallen off the right side of the healthy eating track I am meeting next week to look at what I can do for me & my family with one of these friends!Wink

So does it lessen? yes, it did for me in the past but once you fall off either you have to get right back on or like me this time it happened graduley over time & I need to be re-trained to think healthy again.  With new idea’s & better prep time! The world give us to much junk to eat that is tasty & sometimes (for me if I’m honest) satan is sitting on my shoulder going “it’s ok just this time”, but this time ends up being every time.

So that probably isn’t any help, but know that you are not alone!  Or atleast you can know I am right with you. misty

Sounds like you’re finding out firsthand why Charlotte said the effort of decision is the greatest effort in life. Take heart, though; once your new thinking becomes a habit, you won’t have to give it all that conscious thought anymore.

“The effort is confined to the first half dozen or score of occasions for doing the thing” (Vol. 6, p. 103).

But, as Misty pointed out, it’s easy to go back to the old ruts in our thinking. So be sure to give yourself plenty of motivating ideas and living examples, dear!
