We are loving Book 1 in the Charlotte Mason Elementary Arithmetic Series! We cannot thank Richelle and the SCM Team enough for the labor of love and hard work this must have been and still is. I realize there is so much that goes into getting these books ready and I also realize deadlines are loose and delays happen. With that said, do we know if there is a goal to have Book 2 ready for the next school year/end of Summer? That will just help me as I plan for the following year. Thanks again.
When I asked on the Facebook group, Jordan said they are hoping they might get it out sometime this year. They aren’t able to give anything better than that.
Hi guys. Update on book 2!! It is in the final production phase and we hope to have it available this fall. I would not count on it being out by September 😉 however if you need something to fill in the time between the start of your school year and the release of book 2, you can utilize Mathematics An Instrument for Living Teaching starting at page 30 #29 and Charlotte Mason’s Living Math: A Guided Journey dvd session 5.
How many books are expected to be published in the math series when it’s complete? Just the 2 or will there be more? Just curious for when my littles get older.
The good news is The Charlotte Mason Elementary Arithmetic Series: Book 2 is at the printer’s. The bad news is it will not be available for purchase until at least January.
If you join our weekly email list, in addition to encouragement and practical tips on homeschooling using Charlotte Mason’s methods, you get our announcements for when new products are available for purchasing.
A sample of Book 2 will be available when the book is ready to buy.
I can tell you that the students will learn the addition and subtraction tables through 10 + 10, add and subtract three digit numbers with carrying/borrowing, place value to 1000, the multiplication/division tables through 6 x 10, and multiplying two double-digit numbers.
I have a 9 year old student that is math resistant. We are currently in MUS Beta…she gets basic facts. Should I put her straight in t book 2 when it comes out or should she start at book 1? She is rather bored with basic facts but I’m not sure if she would benefit with doing the first book. What’s your advice?
