I admit, I am the one who started the ever popular thread on paper planner vs. online planner. I really wanted to save myself 9.95 a month so I cancelled my CMO subscription and I was doing it with my own forms for the first half of this year… but then something would change with my children’s schooling needs and I didn’t officially change it on my forms, then something began to be left off and was never added back in to my planner…then our subjects were dwindling magically…and I sat here for 3 days trying to put together a plan with my “updated” paper forms for the second half of this year while the house fell apart around me, and realized I was making myself crazy!
DH let me start my subscription back up at *3pm* today and I am now officially up and running through summer with updated resources and a full schedule (it’s 10:20pm)!
Thank you SCM team for the organizer…and may I never again think that I know a better way!!!
I am coming back after this year. I committed to dh that I would try a paper way, but I cry everyday I forget to write something. Also, the history report you can give at the end of the year is so worth it. I see this even more as the boys are getting older.
I can’t wait to come back. I only wish I could have like a “input” subscription so I could start putting in my material now for next year:0)
I have used CM organizer for three days. The Organizer is amazing. My sister had to help me with some pointers (she has been using it for about a year; I tried it for one hour last May and gave up). She convinced me to go back to my own planning for our school and use this organizer to make it work cuz I get overwhelmned with making schedules. I was using MFW for two months and now I will get off MFW schedule grid and use the books in MFW in the way that I want to. This has given me back control and flexiblity in my school. I don’t feel bound to the grid anymore. At the same time I can use MFW books (I bought it, right) but with my own planning…wait, with CM Organizer I don’t feel like I am planning. After entering in a resourse, it does the work for me.
The CM Organizer is more than a planner. I don’t like to plan. It is more like “what we have done”. And yet it also has a plan though it didn’t feel like planning to me. It is really A JOURNAL OF MY LIFE (okay only three days of my life, but at the end of this week I will have put in the last 8 weeks of school that we have done). I have even put in my devotions, exercise, daily memories, prayer requests, and nature sightings. My dh is out of town but emailed me a recording of him reading aloud his current book to us. I would have not put that in my homeschool binder. It is in Daddy’s read aloud section and has the note that Daddy was out of town with sick family member in hospital. Putting that in shows what is actually going on in our life.
