Notification emails from SCM (for private messages or responses to a thread, etc) have been getting caught in my gmail spam filter for the last couple of weeks. That didn’t used to happen… I keep marking them “not spam” but they keep ending up there anyway. Is there anything more I can do besides flagging them NOT spam?

    Thanks for any advice,

    Jenn

Unfortunately, we have a lot of problems with Google putting our e-mails into the spam folder. We encourage everyone to keep marking them as “not spam” because that helps Google learn.

Follow these steps to make sure e-mails from SCM never go to your Gmail spam folder:

    1. Click the gear button near the upper right side of your inbox screen and choose the “Settings” option.
    2. Click the “Filters” link near the top of the window.
    3. Click the “Create a new filter” link.
    4. Type “simplycharlottemason.com” into the “From” field and click “Create filter with this search”.
    5. Check the box labeled “Never send it to Spam”.
    6. Click the “Create filter” button.

Google is now starting to roll out a new tabs feature that not every one has yet. Some of our messages may end up in the Forums or Promotions tab just because we do a large e-mailing each week, even though most of the messages are not promotional in nature. You can fix this too:

    1. Select one of our messages in your Promotions tab.
    2. Drag and drop the message to your Primary tab.
    3. Say “Yes” to the prompt asking if you want to automatically do this in the future.

Okay, sounds good. I’ll set up a filter and see how it goes. I hope it helps! Thanks Doug. ~Jenn
