I just went on the AG website to order Teaching the Research Paper. Much to my dismay, the individual essay and research programs have been discontinued.
You now have to to purchase Beyond the Book Report season 3 to get them.
I already have the essay program and only need the research one.
Disappointing.

this is a pretty good little gem and not expensive. It breaks down the Research Paper into manageable pieces and is enjoyable to read. (At least I found it engaging, even humourous at times.) Don’t know how well it lines up w/ AG’s materials but might fill the gap you’re looking for.

Glad to help! Exodus is actually fairly local to me and where I purchased mine a while back. They are a nice Christian family who own the store – wish it wasn’t an hour drive there tho for me.

Ladies, I just talked with Erin and Robin at Analytical Grammar RE this. (Their booth is just a couple of aisles over from ours here at the FPEA Convention.) They said that they discontinued those two because the material is expanded and included in their Beyond the Book Report #3 that just came out. Here are some details:
- The Essay is taught with a new video, still focused on The Tell-Tale Heart. Plus, it now covers a personal essay, a literary essay, and the SAT essay.
- The Oral Book Report also has video instruction and walks the students through making an oral presentation with PowerPoint.
- The Research Paper is also on video now with a focus on E. B. White and writing persuasively.
This BBR course is designed as a stand-alone, so you can do it without having done BBR #1 and 2. Erin said they recommend it for students in 8th grade and older. She also mentioned that it’s a better deal at $25 (including both the essay and the research paper [and more]) than the previous pricing on the separate courses.

I used BBR 1 & I didn’t care for it. However, I haven’t seen any of the other materials so I can’t speak to those.
