My kids used to like a game where we made a “reading road” out of easy words. I’d put one word on an index card and make a path of the cards. They needed to follow the path, reading each word. If they were stuck, we’d talk about the word, they’d go back to the beginning and start the road again. Sometimes there would be a surprise at the end of the road. :>
