    Hi there, 🙂

I was wondering, what you ladies have liked for teaching biblical worldview?  I was looking at Apologia’s Biblical Worldview of God and Truth Volume1: What We Believe.  It looks ok, but a little text-bookish.  Anyone try these and their thoughts?  I have young ones right now (age 6 target age), so looking for something not super heavy,  but not babyish.  Thank you in advance for sharing your wisdom!

We are just finishing the last lesson in the Apologia world view book you mentioned with my 2nd and 5th grader.  They have really loved the stories in it.  The rest, though really good stuff, would have better had I assigned it to my older son independently.  It reads similar to the Apologia elementary science books.  I am considering getting the second volume and doing that next year.  I didn’t get the notebook, but I did get the colouring book which they both enjoyed, actually.  The pictures really are very nice.    I do believe the series is recommended for grades 2-8, but I would maybe say grade 4 and up would be better…

This may not be what you want but my approach to teaching a biblical world view would just be . . .have a biblical world view. If you see the world in light of certain beliefs and let that show, I think your kids will pick up on it. It is a little artifial to me to have a curriculum for this. From what I have read of Charlotte Mason, I don’t think she would separate this out as something to teach. She says all knowledge is from God, given by the Holy Spirit, and there is not religious and secular knowledge. So we don’t need to try and add a religious element to things like math or even science. I think she would say less is more in this department.

As much as we loved Who Is God (Apologia) it was too dense for my girls (2nd and K). We’re shelving that for a while. I concur with Nebby. That’s the first and most important step … your worldview will shine in your everyday, from there the rest is just icing on the cake. We find our worldview beliefs are naturally part of much of our materials … TQ, AIG, etc. … so aside from how we live, it’s just there, organically.

    HI there,

Thank you for your responses.  My4Boys, thank you for sharing your experience with the Apologia books.  Nebby and Erin.kate, I do understand also just letting us living life being an example of our worldview, but my husband and I are really, in the grand scheme of things, new believers.  My husband never grew up in church and I did some, but wasn’t really connected.  It has only been about 5 years since we have really had a true relationship with the Lord.  While we have grow by huge leaps and bounds, I still would like to make sure I am teaching my children well by having something I can go by in leading us in our thoughts of a biblical worldview.  I am sure I could probably even learn a thing or two. 🙂

So, if anyone has any suggestions, we would appreciate it. Thank you in advance!

I don’t know if you read any of Sally Clarkson’s books but she highly reccommends Summit Ministries and their teachings.  This series is part of it.  I really trust her opinion.  Just an FYI.
