Thanks for sharing that. I sort of wish I would find the time to blog, but I know I would put too much time into it at this point….same reason I don’t have a Facebook account!
We are actually continuing with two subjects over the summer for the first time, mostly to ensure that my oldest daughter graduates on time in June, 2016.
Love your new blog, Christie! We finished school a couple of weeks ago. We plan to start our summer schedule (which will begin the next school year) on Monday. It will be lighter, flexible and more casual. But it starting to get really hot and muggy here so we can log in some days and take some time off in the fall.
Being in Florida, we have the same but worse, Robin! However, with several outside courses for the coming year, we will have to keep a more traditional calendar. We will see what I think after this summer without a full schedule. I almost said fully off, but we won’t be fully off, but more so than ever before.
Sue, I don’t Facebook either and have no desire to. I am a very sporadic and haphazard blogger and feel no pressure to do more. Now researching and planning, I can go overboard there if not careful.
@missceegee, I have a question. Regarding the weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly lists, are you intending to complete all (or nearly all) of the items listed each week or month, or are those just ideas from which you will select as desired?
Sue, the dailies are definites, the weeklies are highly likely/probable if not definite. The bi-weekly and monthly are ideas to pull from. I’m making the summer school list and I’m bored list soon and the kids and I will troll Pinterest and combine things to make our own summer bucket list.
We are doing the same thing over here! First time ever taking a summer off. Completely. Totally. Off. I was terrified and excited. Now I’m just so burnt out (ick, hate to admit that one) that I can not wait!
We leave for a six/seven week road trip to California and back on June 15th. I think that will teach us a great deal. 😉
Claire, I am right there with you. I am burned out and need a rest. We have a few things to continue through the summer, but those won’t amount to more than 1-1.5 hours a day. Your trip sounds amazing! That will be wonderful learning time and refreshing time!
Looks like great summer plans! We’re doing light summer learning too. Just XtraMath, scripture reading, and 30 minutes daily reading. I’m still reading aloud as well, for our homeschool book club. Then a few times a week we do some history (History Revealed: Ancient Civilizations and the Bible by Diana Waring).
That’s it! Lots of time outside, cooking lessons with mom, and freedom to build/create/craft/read/explore.
