Taking it slow- reading with my son

My son was struggling with reading last year. It just wasn’t coming together for him. I wrote a post and asked for some help. We took the summer off and I decided to go back and start almost at the beginning and take it as slow as he needed me to. We purchased First Steps PrePrimer as recommenced on SCM and are going through a phonics program very gently. He is feeling so confident with the material and it has become a joy to him. I know some of it is review but I can see how good it is making him feel and it’s so worth it. This is my first time teaching reading and I’m so glad for the recommendations that I received from you all on this site. Thank you all, you have been a blessing to me. Thank you for sharing your experiences and wisdom.
