Summer Reading recommendation for 1st grader?

Do you mean for you to read as a read-aloud, or beginning readers for your children to read?

For read-alouds, I like the suggestions here on SCM for the Early Years, for my dd5 (and my ds8 enjoys them, too).

We are reading the Ragedy Ann and Andy stories right now and just finished Beatrix Potter, which we all enjoyed. We also like the Katie stories on that list.

I would recommend Sonlight book lists and Yesterdays Classics for further titles.
