I’m looking for something along the lines of the Anne books ( how Anne loves to dream and write and wants to be a writer) but having to do with art instead of writing to read with my 7 year old over the summer. She LOVES painting and sketching and drawing and coloring and I think would appreciate reading about a little girl, or boy, who had the same passion as she.
Do any great reads exist? 🙂

It was given to me when I was 7 and went to the Art Museum in Washington DC. I still have it and now my DD enjoys it.
What are the Anne books? My daughter loves to write and wants to be a writer. Thanks.
For art, the Katie book series comes to mind, like Katie Meets the Impressionists, or the Charlotte in Giverny series (though beware there is a reference to nude bathing, in France 1892).
The Anne books are Anne of Green Gables; but even better “writer” books are the fabulous Betsy-Tacy books by Maud Hart Lovelace. I wanted to BE Betsy when I was a little girl; I even had a “writing trunk.”

And I forgot all about Betsy-Tacy books! Those are fabulous!! Love them!
