someone recommended CM to me for history. My daughter did Ancient hist/Lit last year.  From what I saw, there are at least 4 more years with CM after that, but only 3 years left assuming she does econ/gov’t as a senior.  I don’t want her to miss anything, so I don’t know where to start.  Btw, I am not good with history or putting my own plan together.  I kinda need it planned out for me.  Is there a way to breeze through the remaining 4 in the less than 3 years she has left?

How far did she get in Ancient history? If she already studied Ancient Rome, you could jump in at Middle Ages.

That’s the problem, she didn’t get to Rome.  I was looking online to try to find a crash course in Rome.  I’m not worried if they don’t get deep into every area of history possible, but I do want her to have a good overview at least.

I would recommend jumping into Medieval history, even if she didn’t get all the way through the Ancients. Then you could do Early American history and the age of exploration the next year. Followed by Modern US and World history and leave her last year for government and economics. If you wanted to cover Rome I would think about assigning some period literature and maybe a spine over the summer to give her an overview.

Augustus Caesar’s World by Genevieve Foster or The Story of the Romans by Guerber (edited by Christine Miller from Nothing New Press) would give her a good overview. Either could easily be read during the summer.
