Tell me it is ok for my boys to be outside this morning! They just had to go! It has already begun getting a balmy 93 here in Ga. So right now it is pleasant outside. I know it truly is ok for them to be out..but why do I feel so guilty? Could it be that I know that public school kids are doing the opposite? That is WHY we homeschool, right?! Will I be able to get their attention for school this afternoon? Why do we feel so guilty about things we do?? The pressure sometimes is so overwhelming! And then I am a grouch! LOL! Or should I say Boo Hoo?!!

Hope you all have a Happy Spring! Or Hot Spring, in our case 🙂

IT IS OK FOR YOUR BOYS TO BE OUT THIS MORNING.  🙂

Enjoy  your lovely morning!  We’ve been outside as much as we can here but it keeps raining!  LOL

My girls are outside reading this morning as it is lovely, although it is a bit windy – however we are outside whenever we can be.  So don’t feel guilty -ENJOY.

Definately it’s okay!!  My boys have been outdoors most of the morning here.  They were outside most of yesterday too!  Generally when spring hits here (we are in Maine… it’s a LONG LONG winter) we take a few days and spend it all outdoors!

This am we watched a Moody Science dvd, did Literature read alouds and then they were outdoors.  They will come in for lunch, do math and lang. arts then it’s back outdoors for the afternoon.   Oh but before we did anything, they ate breakfast and played for an hour outside.  LOL

So don’t feel guilty at all!  Enjoy it, whether you are out there with them or enjoying the quiet inside while they are playing (as I am! Wink  )

As I was told by another homeschooling family: “Public school students get snow days. We take gorgeous days.” Make the most of it!

LOL! My kids are outside and do short lessons in the evenings. We talk about all of their discoveries from the which seedlings are sprouting to which bird is calling “Bridgett” to be his mate 🙂  In the evenings, we’ll draw what we’ve seen during the day and listen to our read alouds.

Enjoy this awesome time of the year!

Karen, I love your “gorgeous days” idea. That’s so true.

The way I see it, 2flowerboys, is that when the weather is nice, we enjoy it. It is God’s gift to us. When the weather is yucky in either extreme, we stay indoors with heat or AC (another blessing from Him) and do more reading, crafts, etc.

There is a season for everything.

(Sorry, can’t get the bold off.)

I was thinking about this thread again yesterday as my boys were bringing me insect after insect to examine!  (we are currently on an insect study for science)  Then Rylee caught his first frog of the season!  Laughing  He was so excited.  That certainly wouldn’t of happened if he had been indoors all day long!

So go, enjoy the beautiful spring weather!

Oh, and while we were at the local park yesterday we saw a georgous bald eagle!  We’ve seen this one before, it’s local to the area.  The boys really want to find it’s nest.  So we have a hiking trip soon up Hatchett Mountain (really it’s a hill here in Maine, not a mountain… lol  I grew up around the mountains in WA state!  Those are mountains!)  Again, if we were cooped up indoors we would miss these goergous sights/animals/creatures that God has out there for us to view!
