I’m looking into books I can use as a spine, for creating my own chronological history study. I’d like to combine as many different ages as possible. What are some good options?
I’ve been looking into MOH, and I really like that the Bible is woven into world history. I do get the feeling, that it hops around quite a lot.
Did you look at the free curriculum guide on this site? After clicking on the free curriculum guide, you click on history, then for each module listed, click for the details and the spines come up along with the books to supplement with for grade levels. Another thing, many people use Story of the World with the Activity Guides which have suggestions of books to read and activities to do along with each time period.
Heritage History has an article or page where they listed 5 different spines and gave the pros and cons of each. I can’t remember where it was, but it was informative and would be helpful for you if you can find it. =)
On the Shores of The Great Sea is listed on that Heritage History webpage. I just started that one a week ago (got the ebook for $1.99) and we are loving it! No regrets so far and I can’t say that for any of the spines I’ve used in the past. Looking forward to doing the whole Synge series! 🙂
