First, I was wondering if anyone had any feedback yet on the Cherrydale Spanish? I’m also considering Learnables if anyone has any feedback on that. I have been looking for a good and affordable Spanish curriculum for a couple of years and I’m feeling frustrated. Thanks.
We enjoy the Learnables. It is easy! The beginning lessons can be boring, but as you move along they get more challenging. You can repeat the lesson over and over until you feel more confident. Very simple way to learn. Mimics the way you might learn in “real life” by listening and applying, then using the words on paper.
Oh! I was hoping that you could give some insight, Christie. 🙂 Do you have plans to use them soon? I’ve been reading past threads & someone mentioned Sonya’s comment on an Easy Spanish thread. But my searches haven’t pulled up the thread & I’m not sure if her comment was even about the CM style foreign languages.
We’ve used the Learnables for years. I love them! Easy to use, ZERO prep, ZERO knowledge needed, and VERY effective. It’s not too difficullt even for little non-readers as long as someone can point to the right picture for them so they don’t get lost….so hard for them to do completely alone, but if they have an older sib or mom to sit with them, it works very well…lessons need to be shortened for little ones though…just stop the tape sooner than later. The kids don’t ALWAYS love them to death – but then what lessons do they ALWAYS love?? They do often enjoy it though…more often than not at our house.
