Has anyone used Song School Latin? I played the samples and my 4 year old daughter was trying to sing them! I had started Latin 2 years ago with the boys, but we got sidetracked. I am planning on getting back to it this year. (I think the boys will secretly listen to it!)
We have used it and have enjoyed it. I spread it out over dd’s first and second grade year (almost finished with it). DD seemed to enjoy the songs more last year, and this year she is really enjoying the chapter story….mostly in English, with a small amount of Latin words to translate. I never studied Latin so am a total novice, so fwiw, I think it’s great! We are moving on to Latin for Children next year and are looking forward to it. (I just hope I can keep up! LOL. SSL is gentle …. LFC looks like a big step up to me…. )
I’ve just bought it for my 6yo & almost 3yo to start in July (our new year) while my 9yo will start Latin for Children A. I’ve “played” with them and think they are both great!
My girls will turn 4 and 5 in the fall. it’s sounding like this might be better for ages 6 and up? I just want to give a gentle introduction to them. I might wait one more year.
I don’t plan on doing any of the written stuff w/ my little ones, even though it’s minimal. I just plan on letting them listen to it for the most part.
I, too only want the cd and not any of the written. My son (almost 10) is starting LfC A in the Fall, but not my dd, who is 9. She is very auditory and I thought if I gave her a year of the cd, that would give her an extra boost, so-to-speak as they are both in Hebrew, too and she struggles a little more than her brother (of whom language comes almost effortlessly).
So I hope it will be fine without the workbook.
Rachel
