I am looking to farm out science for dd12 for 7th next year. I am looking at online classes with Landry Academy. I would love feedback from those who’ve used it OR those who’ve looked at it or heard about it.

Option 1 – one semester of Pre-physics and one semester of pre-chemistry

Option 2 – one semester of pre-biology and one semester of pre-anatomy & physiology

You can see more here – http://landryacademy.com/classes.html. You have to scroll A LOT to the science section.

    Thanks,

    Christie

I have looked at it, but haven’t used it — the price threw me off a bit, as does the price of most on-line classes.  I don’t know if you’re looking for other options, or if you really want to go with Landry, but I’ve been looking at the Red Wagon tutorials for Apologia.  It looks like you get a teacher on video which I think will work better for us rather than having to conform to someone else’s schedule to be “at” the on-line class.  So, just ignore me if that’s not helpful to you.  Undecided

Thanks, Jeaninpa. I’ll look at that option, too. I know online classes are pricey, but it works out to ~ $15-$20 a class which isn’t too bad when I need the help.

I received an email from that said Landry Academy will have a homeschool moms science retreat in Texas soon. Because it was a forward on an egrouo, the link to details didn’t work. But, as soon as I find out more I’ll post it. $25 for the whole weekend. Might be worth it to find new ways to pursue teaching science.
