Yes, I agree that a great geography study is definitely needed! I have been looking for one for years and I keep thinking I’m just going to have to write it myself! 🙂 Maybe for the grandchildren someday.
It was interesting and informative and it is presented as the story of two boys who come home from school every day and share what they have learned with their family. And if you actually modeled everything in sand, as the author suggests, I think it would be really wonderful. I am fairly certain this is not exactly what you are wanting (because it is not exactly what I was wanting) but I thought you might find it useful so I thought I’d share anyway.
We have only done the first section. My kids had trouble following when we got to the part about England. I need to pick this back up again. We used some of the synoptic facts at the end of each chapter for copywork.
Yes, I agree that a geography study would be well received. Thanks for the cook suggestion, Christie. I’m heading to the library today anyway, so I will pick it up.
Home from the library. Gail Hartman has another first book of maps called As the Roadrunner Runs. I checked both out, but like As the Crow Flies better, for the continuity.
