So we do Christmas for my dh ‘s side and this year we decided to do it simple. So we are making a turkey they day before and pulling it apart for sandwhiches. We will have fruit, vegi’s, olives and of course some treats. But what else could I add to this for a good mix? I feel like I need a bit more veriety? (SP)

What are your suggestions? Thanks Misty

Maybe a turkey soup in the crockpot (or another kind of soup/stew). That’s what came to mind for me.

Cheese tray, cranberry sauce, devilled (or angelled) eggs.  We are doing simple too, ham sandwiches, fruit salad, and such.

How about a loaded jello salad (loaded w/ fruit &/or veggies Wink), ranch or creamy-type dip, and a cherry cobbler.  These came to mind because of the color combination making the food feel festive.

We just made Turkey Soup with the Tahnksgiving Carcus (we froze it) and it was the best soup I have ever made.  It was easy to make and SO YUMMY!

I followed this to a T – the only thing I did differently was to use whole allspice instead of whole peppercorn in the stock simply because I didn’t have peppercorns but I did have whole allspice and I had used allspice in the turkey, so I thought it would compliment the flavor.  It did!  🙂

I make fresh soup everytime we have a chicken or turkey carcass and it is always delicious, highly recommend that with crusty bread or rolls.
