    Hi,

I am thinking about switching over to SCM and wanted to know if it is too late to start module 1 this school year? Would we be too far behind to catch up? Should I just finish the year with good living books and start the grade 1 recomendations next year?

    Also,

For a family experiencing a bit of homeschool burnout what is the best resource from SCM that would help? I am limited as to how much money I can spend so I can only get a small amount.

    Thanks,

    Penny,

Amanda and I had the same conversation about two months ago.  You can easily start Module 1 now, go through it at a faster pace, take it over a year and a half or just wait to start.  I am having to sit on my hands not to start now since my dd isn’t really old enough yet.  If you need to start with something fresh, there’s no time like the present.  There are some amazing ladies who can give you a lot more concrete advice on this issue.

Good luck and peace.  I know it’s really hard when you’ve had a lot of “false starts” been there, done that and bought a very expensive t-shirt this year.  Wink The All-Day Charlotte Mason Seminar that Sonya does (you can buy the DVDs here) was amazingly encouraging.  It helped me to understand how to educate my kids, not just “this curriculum or that.”  Worth its weight in gold, IMHO.
