I have recently been so convicted about my need to share my faith boldly with unbelievers.  It’s on my heart – I WANT to do it – and then I don’t.  I’m so frustrated with myself!  I’d love to hear what has helped you with evangelism.  Is there a certain book/method?  The only good I can see coming out of the place I’m in right now is that when I finally do share boldly I will know it is the LORD in and through me, because my natural man sure doesn’t do it!

Our small group is currently studying this: http://www.amazon.com/Becoming-Contagious-Christian-Bill-Hybels/dp/0310210089.  It’s an awesome book.  The dvd’s are really helpful, too, for many examples on taking real life situations and sharing naturally.  I’m weak in this, too:(  Hubby and I keep talking about having neighbors over once a month for dinner, but haven’t gotten to it yet with our busy weekends lately.  I think a big thing is to take the time to get to know people and care for them first and then we can naturally have spiritual conversations.  The difficulty for me is taking that time…us and everyone is so busy (but that’s not a good excuse).

Something our last church did was at Christmas time we held Christmas coffees.  We invited neighbors over for coffee and treats and also shared the gospel and handed out cards at the end to see if anyone had accepted.  There was a note on the invitation that there would be a spiritual message, or something like that. I forget if there’s an official organization that has resources for this.  Blessings as you venture out…such an important part of our walk and I understand the struggle.  God is good and will give strength and opportunities if we follow His leading!  Blessings, Gina

This book discusses true hospitality to strangers as well as friends, which is key to living the gospel.

Great question!  My oldest (7) wants to invite children over from the neighborhood so SHE can read the Bible to them everyday… but I don’t know if they’ll come… Cry  We invited nearly 200 homes in our neighborhood to come to our backyard Bible club this summer and only 4 came and 2 of those were direct neighbors.  So now we’re going to hand out child evangelism fellowships Truth Chaser’s Club packets… then children can mail in and receive mail right from their OWN home for FREE! I was JUST going to look at our local Christian bookstore today for a book of creative outreach ideas for kids.  I have four girls and we LOVE tea parties, so I’d love to host a gospel driven tea party, but I’m not super creative, so I really could use an outline to follow.

Another idea I’ve had is to use Family Life Today’s Life Ready video series to invite people over and disciple them.  Here’s the one I really want to do  Marriage Oneness.  I’m planning on inviting a couple of other stong Christian couples as well as non-believers (as many as we can as I bet it will be hard to get people to come talk about their marriage!).

Reading Missionary stories really inspires us, now to just put it in action.   When we lived in NJ, we had several friends that were very proactive in witnessing EVERYWHERE and they were great to hang around because when you see it in action it’s much easier to do.  Here we don’t have any friends like that, so I guess it’s our job to figure out how to do it and then inspire our friends!
