  • This morning my little girls yelled from their room, “Mommy come quick! There’s a HUGE mockingbird on outside.”

I went upstairs and looked out their window to see a Road Runner in our backyard. LOL, who knew a “mockingbird” could imitate the looks of other birds too.

Of course we grabbed the binoculars, looked up Road Runners and their habits. Fun stuff!

We’re having an early spring here. Last week we were taking a walk and heard birds singing. Ds8 asked what the birds were singing. I, of course, didn’t know. He answered, “I think they’re singing Jesus Loves Me.” Who knows? Maybe they were.

    Funny!

Just a few minutes ago my 4 year old son, who was kneeling at the open window tweeting out at birds with his 1 year old brother, turned to me and said, “Mom the air pressure is allowing my voice to go through the screen so the birds can hear me tweet.”

I just about fell over. That’s the vocabulary a child aquires when you begin reading quality literature aloud from birth. I love living books!

I have a math funny!!!  We were reviewing ordinal numbers and I thought I could make it interesting by putting a line of 10 stick figures waiting in line at the water fountain on the board.  I told my daughter to point as I called there place in line.  She asked if she could put there faces on as I called them out.  1st to 5th place had smiles getting smaller and smaller.  Starting with 6th they got frowny faces ending with 10th having angry eyebrows and all.  I was laughing so hard!!!  We left our little stick guys on the board for several days.  Just think, she probably would have gotten in trouble for being creative and disrupting the class if she were in regular school!!!

Funny stories ladies, thanks for sharing.

A joy shared is doubled! 😉
