I am new to CM and HS since we will be doing a K year this fall with my oldest. To be honest, the thought of doing Shakespeare seems, dare I say boring. I guess I was exposed to Shakespeare in high school. If I was, it did not leave an impression one way or the other. Today, I ran into this blog and now I am actually looking forward to the adventure when we do Shakespeare in a couple of years.

My daughter is 6 and we have read 3 plays so far from “Tales from Shakespeare.” I waited until we were a few months into ‘year one’ and then I originally planned to break these up and just do 2 or maybe 3 this year, spending a few weeks on each one and then taking a break. My daughter won’t let me! She specifically asks to do Shakespeare and then wants me to read the whole story in one sitting. This is a girl who loves to read (taught herself at a young age and never is far from a book), but it still surprised me that she would be so interested in Shakespeare. I look forward to getting into the actual plays in a few years.
