Hi, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good sewing resource for an 8yo girl. She already makes up her own little projects with scraps of material and thread in her free time. I would like to continue encouraging this and help her learn better technique as well. Any suggestions?
If you have read or plan to read the Little House series there are 2 books you may want to look into. My Little House Sewing Book and My Little House Crafts Book (which I believe has a few other sewing projects). Both might be at your local Library if you wanted to look before buying. They have used copies for cheap on. Amazon.
Here is a link to a book I bought for my daughter. We haven’t used it too much yet, but it has some nice projects in it, and it comes with patterns. There is even a pattern for a simple skirt. Instructions are written at a second grade reading level.
Wow, these all look like really great suggestions. I actually have the Little House Craft Book, and didn’t even think about that. Thank you all so much! I’m looking forward to doing some of these things with my daughter.
