Those of you who use a Windows computer may be interested to know that a homeschool dad has just launched a Windows app for the Scripture Memory System. It’s called Scripture Box.
(We are in the process of developing an iOS version. So all you Apple fans, hang on!)
Scripture Box won’t work with the the Nook as that runs a different operating system (Android, I think). It is currently specific to Windows 8 (e.g. on desktops/laptops) and Windows RT (e.g. the Surface). We are considering making a web-based version of the app that isn’t specific to Windows.
For those who are running Windows 7 or earlier and are interested in upgrading to Windows 8, you can view Microsoft’s upgrade offer here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/buy. It looks like the price is $39 until the end of January.
Thanks Tim for letting me know. 🙂 I have Xp on my home computer but dial-up limits me. Maybe one day I will be able to do some cool things with a computer… 🙂
In my dream world an iOS app would marry the Fighter Verse app already available. There are neat features on the Fighter Verse app, but I want to organize like our SMS box.
Doug, I like everything about it except the organizational structure. I want my SMS box structure! There are little Memory tools and quizzes that are nice. I like that I can set my current verse as a lock screen (takes a screen shot essentially). I like that I type in ref. and it adds verse (though I use the fighter verses). I can listen to the verse read aloud or sung and can share it easily. I also like that I can link to that entire chapter. So, yes, I like it all, except the org. structure.
I would like to ditto Christie – I would REALLY like the SCM Scripture memory box system in the form of an iOS app. Pleeeeeeaaaaase! I know you guys can do it!
