scm scripture memory system query

    I’ve been reading about the scm scripture memory system and I wondered if it is a “Charlotte Mason Style” system – in other words inspired by the CM style of education – or if it is a replica (modern or otherwise) of what CM actually devised or advocated for use with  her students. I’ve been looking in the Original Series and can’t find it, but I am quite sure I might be missing something glaringly obvious! lol

    I don’t have a quote for you…. but I think that CM was just reading a selection a few times each day (maybe at meals?) and that by the end of the week the child is likely to have it memorized.

    I suspect the memory system is someones adaptation or method to keep reviewing memorized pieces.

    Charlotte assigned Scripture memory to her students, and she described a couple of ways of learning those portions. The system on our site is simply a tool that has been helpful to our family in making sure we remember the Scripture we’ve learned, as well as continue to memorize more.
