The Organizer shows the most recently finished assignment above today’s assignment for a particular subject, and I know that when I hover over the completed assignment, it shows a clickable link called “edit assignment.” If I needed to add a note to that assignment, I could click on it and go back to do that.
My question is this: I have an assignment that I marked as completed, but I didn’t have time to grade the essay using my rubric, so I just marked it completed since we had to move on with our assignments. (Ah, the pressure of having a graduating senior who needs to be done in two weeks! As I’ve said before, sniff, sniff….) Is there a way to go back and add a note to an assignment after it no longer appears above the current assignment?
Unfortunately, right now there isn’t a way to add a note to a completed assignment if it’s no longer showing above the current assignment. That’s on our wish list along with editing previously recorded work, though.
This has happened to me and what I have done is just make the note for that assignment on the day’s notes section and reference back to the specific assignment, resource etc. This way the note becomes apart of the permanent record and any grade.
Hope this helps you.
Also, I have found that if the resource has been completed then you can not get anything back to edit, but I have edited assignments that have been completed as long as the resource itself hasn’t been completed. This is how I have had to do it… I do not know if this is recommended by Jordan and the gang, but it has worked for me.
Say I put the wrong grade on a math assignment and notice 3 days later that I’m off. I go to the completed assignment above and click edit then I refresh the browser then that assignment that was completed becomes unfinished and the completed assignment before that one becomes available to edit and I click it and then refresh the browser and that assignment becomes the new one to be done and another completed assignment becomes available to edit and I just do this all the way back to the assignment I need to edit. A big pain for anything more that a few days back, but totally worth doing for things in the same week. Of course you then have to go through and complete all the other assignments again as they were etc. until you get back where you really are.
Hope this helps and hope this doesn’t step on any toes….
I just started my trial of using this program and I love so many features about it but this is the one thing that I’m not sure I’m willing to pay for if I can’t go back and add things to yesterday’s assignment… because let’s say I didn’t get around to putting in a note about the hands on project I did with a book we read… that is the only thing that is making me hesitate. Otherwise I love the simplicity of this planner so much more than any of the other ones I’ve found online.
