Hello. I am starting my son in Yr 1 next year and have been doing research for History. I looked into “A Child’s History of the World”, and “The Story of the World”, but I am very pleased by finding the History/Geography/Bible Modules on SCM. Forgive me, since this is all new to me, I am just wondering how I am to go about plannning each year. I see that there are only two Daily Lesson Books, but they say grades 1-12. I understand it will be a little different for me because I only have one child. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated! Thanks!
Sonya is publishing the study guides as she completes them, I believe. The guides can be flexible for grades 1-12 so that a family can study the modules together. You would obviously only be using one grade level, but if your son is of an age where you would be repeating a module later on you will then be able to use the same material at his advanced grade. You can, of course, choose not to use any guide and still select books from the module and ‘do your own thing’ with the study. Hope this helps!
Thank you Cindy! I suppose I am a bit ahead of myself…trying to plan the next 5 yrs! Hehe! I think this will be a good start and I will keep moving along as new guides are completed. Do you use the guides? If so, do you enjoy them? I like the idea of trying to put it all together myself and just choose Living Books for history, but right now that seems scary to me!? I went from just 6 mos. ago thinking of settling for a boxed curriculum to now experiencing the benefits and confidence Charlotte Mason has brought into our home!
