Will the SCM free curriculum guide ever include suggestions for government/economics? Am I overlooking them? I’ve found some suggestions in the bookfinder, but no grade levels…I may be overlooking that, too. I only have access through my phone which is tiny.
🙁
Just wondering. I’m headed off to weed through the discussion forum archives again. Our 17yo needs a bit more in the economics dept and I want to have a better plan for our 13 & 6 yo children.
I know Bookworm is a huge economics guru and she has lots of great suggestions. I think, at one point, she was even putting together an economics course. The archives have a lot of info, but you might also want to try to catch her and pick her brain. Missingtheshire also has some good economics ideas.
For government I think SCM recommends the Notgrass Exploring Government. Grades 10 and up.

Thanks. I’ve been looking at her suggestions this week. I need to go back through and note approximate grade levels and plug the titles into my long term plans. Off to schedule that for Friday after school.

We have watched Stossel’s various programs for years–my youngest son didn’t follow everything until about age 10ish or so but he always enjoyed his entertaining presentation of ideas. Stossel also has a regular TV show on Fox Business (do check topics, he occasionally does one we skip) and he’s all over the net and other things.
