I was reading posts in another thread, and the suggestion was made to schedule one month teaching history and then one month teaching science. I was wondering if any of you do an alternating schedule like that (or similar) for science and history for elementary grades.

When would you stop doing this? Middle school level or continue until high school? How does this work in terms of switching over to the other subject if you haven’t finished your current book?

    Just fishing for ideas…..

We have done that before, as well as half the year focused on history and the other half focused on science. I think it works well, and is similar to many ‘high schools’. One semester the child may have government while the second semester that is replaced by biology. It’s really just what works best for each family. We’ve also done years where history and science happen pretty much every week.
