I am trying to decide what my soon to be 2nd grader’s science progression will look like. I was thinking of using Outdoor Secrets next year (2nd), 3rd grade would be Pond and Stream, and 4th grade is where I get stuck. If she did Exploring What God Has Made in 4th, then Jack’s Insects in 5th, what would she do for 6th? Any suggestions? Could she do Discovering What God Has Made in 4th, Jack’s Insects in 5th and then Exploring What God Has Made in 6th?

    Thank you!

She could do the Burgess Bird book in 4th. That’s what my son will do in the fall

Here is the Bird Study https://simplycharlottemason.com/store/learning-about-birds-with-thornton-burgess/

Outdoor secrets is really light. It’s fine for 2nd but you could do Discovering What God Has Made for 2 or 3rd instead.

We did Burgess Bird this year. I could do Pond and Stream next year instead, then 3rd Discovering but I hated to do that and Exploring back to back. 😩

    I guess I might do

    2nd outdoor secrets

3rd Discovering what God has Made

4th Pond and Stream (use the few optional stretch books or add in a few you find if you want to beef it up a bit 4th isn’t really very old so don’t stress)

5th Exploring what God has Made

    6th Jacks Insects

You can swap 5th and 6th also if you want to.
