I liked the ideas of Sue Patrick’s workboxes. I believe some of the ideas are making posters and labeling the parts of whatever you want and they have to name them. lift the flaps to see if they are right. This concept can apply for human body, animals, science terms, Geography landscape, anything really. 🙂
The CC cards can be used by young children (as an optional resource for kids pk-6th), or for review/study for jr/sr high. The cards have a basic fact to memorize which will become a reference point from which to build upon in the middle upper grades. They usually have plenty other information on the card that can be utilized for copywork, narration, dictation, spelling, grammar, punctuation.
I have seen Montessori science flashcards. Some expensive, some homemade. Those might be simple and more suited for young children, but the cc cards will have a longer usefulness it seems to me.
Thanks Becca and Chocodog. I like the idea of making my own for affordability reasons, but I know I wouldn’t be able to make time for everything I would like to have ready. I’m glad to know that these classical cards are for young ones. Thanks for clarifying!
I’ll check into Montessori too, good idea!
