Science and SS at the same time, or rotate?

Do you do both in the same week, or do you do more of a block schedule for SS and Science (like one month of science then one month of SS)? We don’t have time to do both each day, and I find that trying to do just 2 days of each one (we do a 4 day week) really isn’t enough time to “dive” into stuff. So I’ve been toying with blocking them. Thoughts?
That is basically what we do, but it’s a little different every year. This year, we did history in the fall and science in the spring. It worked out well.
After this, I’m starting smaller blocks like that. A few weeks of geography, a few weeks of history, etc. and then loop back around. It helps my ADD tendencies to just focus on one thing at a time.
