If a guide says to read World History 2 times a week and American History 2 times a week how do you schedule it in the online organizer?
A logical way would be to have WH on Mon & Wed and AH on Tues & Thurs but how does that work if the guide doesn’t have days assigned? How would you make it work in the online organizer?
Well, for Module 5 & 6 (which has the World History and American History) I think you can just pick which days you want to do them.
What I did with module 2, was schedule everything each day, then just click on the little triangle to “minimize” the resources we didn’t use according to the guide for our to-do-list. That way I could easily just follow the guide even if we missed a day or something.
Tammy, if you look at the lesson plans themselves in the guide, they should follow a pattern. For example, the Modern Times handbook has it set up like this:
Days 1 and 2 – American History
Day 3 – Geography and Bible
Days 4 and 5 – World History
So if you do school on M-F, you could set up American History for M and T, Geography and Bible for W, and World History for Th and F.
Thank you Sonya. I guess that would be the difference in using the hand book vs. not. Sounds like using the handbook would be a bit more structured as to which days I would schedule what. I’ve been debating about which way to go with that. On one hand I like having it all layed out for me, but on the other hand….:)
It might depend on the child, but yes, I think it would be nice to keep the same history a couple of days in a row….. basically I’d just pick what you think would work out….
You might do: (h is thursday)
1) American MT, Geography W, World HF or something similar
or something like
2) American MW, World TH, Geography F
or
3) American MH, Geography, World TF
or any other variation! I’d just pick something and try it out.
