I am trying to schedule module 4 into the online scheduler. 🙂

In Term 1 we read Famous Men…Middle Ages chapters 1-33 leaving chapter 34 for later.

Then in Term 2 we read:

    Castle

Chapter 34 of Famous Men middle Ages

Chapter 1-3 of Famous Men Ren/Ref

    Cathedral

    more of famous men…

I scheduled Famous Men Middle ages chapter 1-33 M,T,Th,F for history read aloud for the family

I then scheduled Castle for history read aloud on those days to begin after Famous Men

All is well and good right?

Then I scheduled Famous Men chapter 34 to begin after Castle.

My confusion starts right about here. 🙂  When I went to schedule Famous Men of Ren/Ref to begin after Famous men Middle Chapter 34 I couldn’t tell for sure that I was choosing the correct book to begin after. They both said the book title but didn’t list the chapters that were being used for that particular resource.  I chose the one on the bottom because it looks like the bottom one is the “latest” resource. I’m not sure if that is the most recent resource I have scheduled at the time or if it goes by the date/order they are scheduled for.

Am I doing this right?  Is there a way to tell which book is which?

    Thanks!

HI Tammy! I’m clearer now. I was getting over  a migraine, so was somewhat blah in the brain last night. Since no one else has chimed in yet, I’ll give it a shot.

On the “start after” tab, yes, the last book to show up on the bottom is the last book entered/scheduled (not the one last edited, BTW).

As long as you are using the “Select Chapters” capability to choose chapters (and I’m assuming you are), then you should be fine. Under that capability, then you should be able to choose 34 to be your last chap. in FMotMA before it automatically switches to FMotRR.

Question: when you pull down the tab under ‘start after’, are you seeing the full title Famous Men…Middle Ages and Famous Men…Renaissance and Reformation? It should show up in it’s entirety if that’s how it was entered.

Tammy, do I understand correctly that you see multiple resources for Famous Men of the Renaissance and Reformation in the Bookfinder? This one is the one we entered with all the chapters.

Thanks Rachel. Yes I do see the entire title. It’s good to know that I am assuming correctly which one is showing up last.

Although!!!  I was reading in searches of older posts last night and I may not have to do it this way at all. I read somewhere that some people enter the books and schedule them all on Saturday. Then they enter the handbook as a resource that is used every day. When they check off that lesson of the handbook they check off what they did out of each book.  This might go better with how we tend to do our school, which is do the next thing each day no matter what day of the week it is. 😉

Jordan, no the resource has all the chapters. Based on the handbook for Mod 4 I was only choosing to use the first 33 chapters and then switching to another book. After a few chapters in the other book I was going back to the first book and doing chapter 34.  Thanks for checking though. 🙂

You’ll figure out what method works best per your family’s “way”.
