I agree with Tristan and thank you, Karen!

I’m looking forward to the 4th and 6th grade lesson plans because it will lighten my load for writing down what my 2 kids in those grades are to do each day.

One tip I will offer regarding scheduling is to buy the Apologia Lesson Plans for science. I think that Rainbow Resource has them for under $7. This helped tremendously last year when my son took Physical Science!

This is the fullest year we have had!  We are about to start our 4th week of our homeschool year this week!  We are still finding our rhythm, but we are havin a GREAT year!!!  I have 3 that are doing school and 3 that are too young.  (2) 1st graders and a 3rd grader!  The hard about that is that I am doing reading with all 3 who are not yet independent yet, but this year I am prepping my 3rd grader to be more independent next year!  We are laying the groundwork, so to speak 🙂  I wasn’t sure how I was going to fit it all in, but somehow, it has all gotten done!  We are similar to Tristan in many ways.

8:30ish – 9:30ish We start the day as a family with Prayer, Scripture Memory and at least one of the following (Picture Study, Composer Study, singing a Hymn or Poetry).  Then we sit around the table and do History/Geo/Bible.  We end this time all working on handwriting. Afterwards, the 1st graders are free to go for a bit.

9:30ish –  I work with my 3rd grader on Spelling,  Grammar (Tues,Th)  & Reading.  Honestly, he does his Spelling independently and the rest I do with him.  Then then he gets a break!

    10am  Snack time

10:30ish – I work with my 1st graders one on one with Reading and Math and then they take a break!

11:30ish –  I work with my 3rd grader on Math!

By noon we are done with almost everything!  On days we are running way behind because life has happened, we just do lunch around 12:30! By 1:30pm I like to do an audio book or read aloud!  By 2pm the littles (2, 3 & 4) are going down for a nap.  The only things that are left to do is Science & Habit Training!  So, we do one or the other (Habit Training on Mon & Wed and Science on Tues & Th).  It takes about 25 min tops and everyone is free, except on most Thursdays we do ARTistic Pursuits during nap time as well!   This is what we are doing now!!!  We will move things around as needed 🙂  Keeping lessons short is really key and not starting too late!  🙂
