Thanks, everyone who commented on my plans for my rising 6th grader. Here is what I am looking at for my 3rd grader. Family Devotions will be happening over breakfast and include Scripture memory, NT reading, prayer etc. I’ve not included them on the schedule. I am trying to find the right balance for this ds who is ADHD and also advanced in his math, and language arts skills. Our day would last in the neigbourhood of 2.5-3 hours, I think. Does that sound right? Can anyone see something I am missing? Thanks!
Mon-Fri AM: (approx 45 min -1 hour)
MUS- Finish Gamma/Start Delta (daily)
Independent Reading (Lit 3x, History 1x, Science 1x)
Character Study: 252 Basics (virtue of the month)

Family work PM: (approx 1 hour)
Mod 1 (Modified: Bible daily, History 2x, Geography 2x)
French (3x)
Lit Read aloud (3x), Poetry (1x), Composer, Artist or Poet/Shakespeare focus (1x)

Guided Work: (approx 30-45mins)
Copy work (4x)
Language Arts: PLL (3x, usually orally)
Science: Flying Creatures (3-4x)
Math instruction/corrections as needed

Other:
PE: Karate Club 2x week & Sunday Night Family Swim 1x plus daily physical play
Art/Life Skills: 1 – 2 times per week (depending on lesson or project) can include handicrafts, baking/cooking or learning other new skills — can take place at any time during the week.

I think it looks great! It’s very similar to my plans for 4th and 2nd! Have you looked at the narration ideas here? I printed a copy for my binder…there are some great ideas for this age! http://simplycharlottemason.com/timesavers/narration/

Looks great! I have a rising 3rd grade boy, too. We’re 2 for 2 matching ages. 😉 my others are rising K and 2.5. Do we match there, too?

Thanks again, ladies! It really doesn’t feel like enough when you look at the amount of time he’s spending on lessons and how long the PS school day is, but I think we are covering everything — maybe more than the average 3rd grader? He’s a great reader and well above average speller (will sometimes spell words in the middle of a conversation just because he loves to spell).
He’s always been a little socially awkward, but things are looking up! He’s really starting to connect with a couple of the other kids at church, spent his first sleep over with a buddy last night and is on his way to spend part of the day at the little boy’s grandmothers house at the lake. (We know all of these people very well, of course.) Dh and I actually get to spend and afternoon together because he’s off work for the rest of the week! YAY! I’m so happy for all of us!

Looks good. I am still trying to figure things out for my 3rd grader so this really helped!
