So my dd and I found this news article and now we want to know more about this strange sea creature. Any book recommendations? Searching the library for the name Salpa maggiore is coming up with nothing.  Tongue out

AS far as I can tell, no books exist at all on this creature.  You might find SOMETHING in a book of unusual ocean creatures, but it is almost certain that if you want to know more about this, you will have to use the internet.  I tried using our publications database that our library makes available, and could find only a few scientific articles discussing “salps” as a class of ocean life, like krill or shrimp, and no mention at all of this specific species.

    Weird, but fascinating.

Thanks, Bookworm.  That’s what I am finding.  I printed out the Wikipedia article on it (also known as salpa maxima, which does bring up a little bit more, but not a ton still).  If she wants to find out more, she’s on her own.  LOL
