Review of 1000 Gifts

I, too, had a hard time with the first chapter of One Thousand Gifts and the stream of consciousness style of writing. I stopped midway and had to reflect on the eucharist message. After reading the holy experience blog and starting my own thanksgiving journal, I fell in love with the message of the book and its messenger. I have been encouraged and inspired by Ann Voskamp. My reluctant writer, a nine year old boy, already has over two hundred thanks since adding two each night. And…I now love Ann Voskamp’s poetic expressions. That first chapter is TOUGH though because it tells the story of a terrible tragedy which created a deep sorrow only God could begin to heal.
