I just need some feedback if this is not enough or too much, thank you.
Math (Saxon for now)
Write with the Best (his choice, haven’t received in the mail as of yet)
Getting Started w/ Latin (same as above)
Uncle Eric books (has begun Whatever Happened to….) 1-2 chapters a week, with narration
Literature: I let him choose a book after he finishes the current one out of about 4 I have chosen. But I am stuck on this one…I need to look through the bookfinder/curriculum guide to hit some that he hasn’t read that I need to put in my stack of 4. 1-2 chapters daily, usually with narration
General Science with lab sheets, tests and narrations (this text will probably take us through this school year, meaning almost 2 school years working on it)
Spelling Wisdom and lots of copywork (print and cursive, his handwriting is very neat, especially for a boy)
Logic: I think I ordered The Fallacy Detective, but that hasn’t come in the mail yet, either.
Practical Happiness for character, 1 chapter a week answering discussion questions in a comp. notebook
BOC/Book of Mottoes, uses weekly
Discovering Doctrine, as well, but that is an ongoing study, like BOC/BOM

He participates in all family studies: History/Bible/Geo (Module 1), picture, hymn, poetry, composer, family read aloud, scripture mem., several community activities/sports daily/weekly, and has chores.
We will begin a Shakespeare play soon, but I just haven’t found the one I want yet. I ordered a couple from PBS but they ended up unable to mail…need to try again. I have Lamb’s, I think, maybe I should just start with that?? I really don’t know.
Sounds nearly identical to my 7th grader’s schedule, which will be similar in 8th, so I think it looks great:) We’ve yet to do an original Shakespeare play….have just done Lamb’s. My goal this year is to read Lamb’s first, then hopefully complete the original:) Looks like a full schedule! Blessings, Gina
P.S. Oh, just remembered we’re doing Analytical Grammar…..other than that we’re almost the same. Thanks for reminding me I need to start a Book of Mottoes:)
I actually forgot about Grammar…he’s doing a mixture of JAG and Easy Grammar Plus. And, I believe some of the community classes would count as lifeskills (plus what he does with dad) and he takes music lessons. Don’t know that I have handicrafts covered but we’ll try to fit something in eventually.
Looks good to me–don’t stress over the Shakespeare now. If you read a Lamb’s you like, then maybe consider looking at one . . . later in the year. You have a good plan to start!
Thanks for the Shakespeare comment, Bookworm. Since our AO experience where they were doing original in 4th, I tend to feel guilty each year I don’t get to it….I have no idea how people do 3 a yr!!! Gina
