We’re in junior high right now, but I want to start practice record keeping and transcript writing so when they hit high school I actually (sort of) know what I’m doing.

What are some of the must-have resources for learning how to put together a transcript?  I won’t ask my whole list of questions here because (hopefully) the books/website you recommend will explain all of that!

In looking through older threads it seems that many of you use the CMO for transcript purposes.  Is this the best way to track classes/credits?  Can you explain how this works?  Do you print out everything at the end and hand it in…or just parts?

Also, are there any resources you’d have your new high school students read to help them be successful at this ‘higher’ level?

I appreciate any suggestions you can give!  I don’t want to be the mom that messes up their chances of getting into a competitive school because I didn’t have my act together.

I’m going to use Lee Binz materials and if you have Amazon Prime her Kindle book “Setting the Records Straight: How to Craft Homeschool Transcripts and Course Descriptions for College Admissions” can be borrowed for FREE right now.   I just borrowed it.  My plan is to get her  Convention at Home kit this Spring, which focuses on high school and college things.
